Let’s be clear from the start: Rockstar Games has not announced official GTA 6 PC system requirements. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, no PC version has been announced, and any site claiming to list “official” PC specs is guessing — or worse, farming clicks. What we can do responsibly is look at the hardware the console versions run on, Rockstar’s historical patterns, and the community’s informed estimates. That is exactly what this guide does, with everything clearly labeled as a prediction.
Why there are no official GTA 6 PC specs yet
Rockstar announces PC requirements only when a PC version is close. Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC specs arrived about a month before its November 2019 PC launch — a full year after the console release. GTA V followed the same rhythm: consoles first in September 2013, PC in April 2015. Since GTA 6’s PC version has not even been confirmed, official requirements are naturally still under wraps.
Predicted GTA 6 PC requirements (unofficial estimates)
PS5-class hardware is the benchmark: an 8-core Zen 2 CPU, RDNA 2 graphics roughly comparable to an RTX 2070 Super, and a fast NVMe SSD that games now actively stream from. Community and hardware-outlet estimates, which we consider reasonable, look like this:
Predicted minimum (1080p / 30-60 fps, low-medium settings)
| Component | Predicted minimum |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10/11 64-bit |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-12400F or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (6 cores) |
| GPU | 8 GB VRAM — RTX 2060 Super / RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT class |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| Storage | 150 GB+ NVMe SSD (SSD strongly expected to be required) |
Predicted recommended (1440p / 60 fps, high settings)
| Component | Predicted recommended |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 64-bit |
| CPU | Intel Core i7-13700 or AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (8 cores) |
| GPU | 12 GB VRAM — RTX 4070 / RTX 5060 Ti or RX 7800 XT class |
| RAM | 32 GB (16 GB may still be fine) |
| Storage | 150 GB+ NVMe SSD |
For comparison: official GTA V PC requirements (2015)
| Component | GTA V minimum | GTA V recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 7/8/10 64-bit | Windows 7/8/10 64-bit |
| CPU | Core 2 Quad Q6600 / Phenom 9850 | Core i5-3470 / FX-8350 |
| GPU | GeForce 9800 GT 1 GB / HD 4870 1 GB | GTX 660 2 GB / HD 7870 2 GB |
| RAM | 4 GB | 8 GB |
| Storage | 72 GB HDD | 72 GB HDD |
That jump — from a 2007-era quad core to modern 6-8 core CPUs — shows how much the floor rises in eleven years. The SSD requirement is the other big change: GTA 6’s streaming world design means a mechanical hard drive is very unlikely to cut it.
How to prepare your PC for GTA 6 today
- Have an NVMe SSD with 150+ GB free. This is the safest single prediction across every credible estimate.
- 16 GB of RAM is the realistic floor. 32 GB gives comfortable headroom for 2026 games.
- GPU tiers matter more than brand. An RTX 3060 / RX 6600 XT or better should target playable 1080p; RTX 4070-class cards aim for high-refresh 1440p.
- Update to Windows 11 if you can. DirectStorage and newer scheduler features tend to be embraced by Rockstar’s PC ports (GTA V Enhanced already favors it).
FAQ
Will GTA 6 come to PC?
Rockstar has not announced a PC version. Historically, its big titles arrive on PC 12-18 months after consoles. For the full reasoning, see our platform guide.
Can my PC run GTA 6?
If your PC is at or above PS5 level — roughly an RTX 2070 Super / RX 6700 XT, 6+ CPU cores and a fast SSD — you are in good shape for the eventual PC release. If you can run GTA V Enhanced smoothly at high settings, you are closer than you think.
When will official GTA 6 PC specs be revealed?
Almost certainly alongside a PC version announcement, which would follow the console launch. Watch Rockstar’s Newswire — anything before that is speculation.
